1. Pay attention to the bending radius of the fiber jumper. Generally speaking, the bending radius of 1.6mm and 3.0mm optical fiber jumpers shall not be less than 3.5cm, while that of MPO optical fiber jumpers shall not be less than 10 times of its diameter.
2. Do not pull or squeeze fiber cords. When installing fiber patch cord, excessive force may exert pressure on the fiber patch cord and its connectors at both ends, thus affecting its performance.
3. Route the patch cords according to their path. If the existing jumper length matches the current application, you can reuse the jumper, but you still need to remove the jumper from the fiber distribution frame, and then reinstall the jumper according to the new path. This is the only way to ensure that jumpers are not knotted, bent, and stretched. In order to route jumpers effectively, a proper path should be found between two ports to avoid intertwining and overcrowding of jumpers.
4. Managing fiber patch cords by bundling or tying allows the panel to look neat.
5. It is necessary to correctly label any management point of the network cabling infrastructure, so that network technicians can accurately find the start and end points of the optical cable.
6. Check the fiber patch cord for physical damage, including indentation and connector damage due to a sudden bend in the sheath.
